Cookie Brigade final total presentation at the PAX Prime closing ceremonies

PAX Prime annihilated the record set early this year by PAX East. After four days the Prime crew managed to destroy the $17,650 total from PAX East raising over $22,300 for Child’s Play. The brigade’s lifetime total is now over $115,000 and the Cookie Brigade has a new milestone, raising over $45,000 in just a single year.

I don’t attend PAX, but I’m an avid grandma observer from the sidelines. For weeks I watched in amazement as my daughter-in-law shopped, mixed, froze, baked and finally bagged and labeled over 2K cookies for the Cookie Brigade. A few of us pitched in at the end, but it was mostly her exhausting effort that made it happen. And yet, when she came home Monday night and reported the Child Play total, there was nothing but pure joy on her face and in her voice. I smiled to know that her tireless effort was so richly rewarding, for both her and the charity she loves.

I SO miss being part of the Cookie Brigade! (I haven’t made it to PAX since 2009.) Good job you guys, you make me so proud!

I know organizers keep changing every year, but is there any way to see a bar graph of how much was made each year/event for comparison? Do you have/can you find that info?

I so miss being a part of this amazing group of people as well! I cannot even begin to describe how incredibly proud I am of all of you. Seriously, ya’ll are so great, and I am amazed each year at how many people dedicate their time, money, and energy to this project. Ya’ll are going to make me cry.

…and now that I have a decent paying job, it’s only a matter of time before I rejoin your ranks! Great job again this year (and every year!).
